White pepper, like black pepper, is made from the berries of the pepper plant, also known as Piper nigrum. Unlike black pepper, white pepper comes from fully ripe berries. These berries are then fermented in water, and finally, the outer layer is removed, leaving only the inner seed. White pepper is softer than black pepper, at the same time, it has a sharp and spicy taste and a relatively mild aroma.

White pepper is commonly added to chicken dishes, fish dishes, sauces, salads, and potato dishes. It is more aromatic than black pepper, so it is not suitable for cooking sweet dishes.
